EXHIBITION BOMBARDMENT!!!

Well the exhibition has one day left to go then it's onwards and upwards! Already on the hunt for more exhibition spaces and have enough piece ideas to fill them.
Apologies for the short post and lack of anything witty/clever but I've been popping flu pills since the beginning of the exhibition and it would appear that I've now got an immunity to them. So I'm ill as, well, you get the idea.
Hopefully be getting my mitts on an A3 scanner so will hopefully be able to put more detailed images up of each piece.
Yadda yadda yadda,
Dan.

Exhibition!

This is it! The official countdown to the big event, it's been quite a journey and quite the challenge to not journal it through my blog since I haven't posted any artwork. I did this purely because I want every piece at the exhibition to be new and exciting for the viewer but they'll all be getting posted here afterwards so if you miss the show don't worry (that isn't an excuse not to go though).
With three different artists with three different styles this is a show that is guaranteed to blow your brains. So come down and have a drink, a look about and a conversation with some happy folk.

Cheers and take care,

Dan.

Held at The Sanctuary Art Space

Hope to see you all there!

New piece!

Here's my latest PG piece that I will hopefully be selling in Blackwells, I'll be sure to let you all know how it turns out.

Dan.

Now in store!

I had the phenomenal opportunity to sell some my work in Blackwells art store in the the centre of Newcastle. It may have just been the one piece but it again sold almost instantly and I'm now currently working on others of a similar feel that I think may prove to be great sellers, heres hoping!
I also entered the design into a T-shirt competition but unfortunately didn't even come close, what do they know right!
Anyway, the rest are framed up and trying to find good welcome homes so spread the word.

Take care,

Dan.

Illustration North East exhibition.

An exhibition showcasing the talents of local artists gave me my first experience exhibiting my work and selling it. With three pieces on display and all three selling within the first 2 hours of the event I couldn't of asked for a better start. This also gave me the opportunity to see how others approach their own artwork which can only benefit someone who intends to make a living this way.

Posca pens. Again. I'm sorry.

Experimenting with the use of acrylics with Poscas, not there yet but something's definitely brewing.
Keep your peepers peeled.

Threadless tee.

I'm not sure where the idea for this tee came from, I suspect its from all the nature shows I've been watching. I originally drew the bat as just a bat but as per usual couldn't just leave it at that so threw a vest and some boxers on him. Its a bit rushed ( due to running out of Posca pens I've been forced to go back to other means of illustration, which I ain't happy about) and I reckon that if I had more time I could've done something a bit better with it but I'm pleased and reckon the colouring works a treat.
Anyway, I've put it up for some critique before I enter it properly. I don't know if that was a wise move since I'm not the best at taking criticism.
So go check it out and tell me what you think!

Latest Posca doodles. (And Spongebob).

Just finished these two pieces and it looks like they'll be the last until payday as my relentless abuse of my Posca pens has resulted in a majority of them running out at the same time. Life's like that I guess.
Ah well.
Keep jammin.

Posca card paintings.

I could literally sit and draw onto card with Poscas for the rest of my life!

DeathBox 36660.

Well, here it finally is. My custom painted 360 and Guitar Hero controller.
Enjoy.

Fun with Poscas.

I found an old broken Xbox 360 the other day and thought it was a shame to throw it away without having some fun with it first. Obviously smashing it to smithereens came to mind first but then thought about painting that sucker up.
So spending a majority of my birthday money on Posca's I set to work.
Now I know your now thinking that there's no pictures of any painted Xbox here. But since the Xbox is such a big job I take a break every now and then and have a little cardboard doodle.
Pics of the Xbox to come soon and I'm sure any other little pieces in between will also find their place here.

Illustration Friday

Well, this WAS meant to be for illustration fridays "Remedy" topic but I was unfortunately too late.
Ah well, next time!
Since I was gonna be rubbing shoulders with the top dogs at GameHorizon, I had some business cards knocked up and printed professionally.
Apart from a slight misunderstanding with the print company, all went well and got the opportunity to hand out some these bad boys!

(Also, ignore the e-mail address on the info. Had to correct that moments before I sent it off.)

Skull Committee.

Had the overwhelming urge to paint/posca some various size canvas'. Was a hoot draw and learned a little in the process.
Gonna be buying a tonne of canvas' in bulk and hammering these puppies out.
If anyone is interested in having some bone heads hanging in their hallway keep your peepers peeled and watch this space!

Start spreading the news!!

Since I love New York so much I thought I'd pay homage to it by doing a right big NY drawing. Also spent more time on this in Illustrator than Photoshop which saved a lot of time and made things a whole lot easier.
